Palm Desert Palm Springs Painting Contractor

Selecting the right paint for the job

For the “Do-It-Yourselfer” or that quick, one room spruce up, painting a room yourself can be quick and simple.

The very first step to beautiful results is selecting the right paint for the job. Here is a quick guide;

FLAT or MATTE finish.  No sheen whatsoever. Rich smooth finish, great for walls in bedrooms, dining, living and family rooms. Does show wear and tear, and may retain stains, oily fingerprints etc. Great on walls that are old and possibly have alittle "character" it hides lots of flaws and looks beautiful!

EGGSHELL.  Great for all general areas. Harder finish than flat but still little to no sheen. Cleans easily and resists hand prints and general wear and tear. Excellent for high traffic rooms like family room and children’s bedrooms.

SEMI GLOSS
; A must for kitchens. bathrooms and laundry rooms. Semi gloss paints are especially designed for easier cleanups, Grease in the kitchen, dirty hands on the woodwork and moisture protection in the bathroom are all good reasons to use a good quality Semi Gloss paint. Also a great look for doors, door casings and base boards.

HIGH GLOSS: Beautiful and very stylized. Can be used on doors, door casings and baseboard. Use carefully on walls as it has a very high shine and shows every surface flaw!

For a picture perfect paint job without the fuss and muss of doing it yourself, hire a great painting contractor. Make sure they are licensed, bonded and Insured. Check their reference and try them out. The painting contractor you hire should guarantee his work and treat your project as though it was his own.
